• Question: Bearing in mind you enjoy physics, A LOT, would you consider this a full on career or just a temporary job?

      For me, it is a full on career. Doing a PhD is like an apprenticeship for being a scientist. These few years are training for me to be able to experiment on my own and develop my own ideas.

      It may be that after four years I’ve had enough, in which case I’ll find something else to do. Right now though I can easily see myself at a university for the rest of my working life.

      It depends what you want out of a job as well. If you want piles and piles of money, then it’s defienitely not your best bet!
