A geophysicist uses physics to understand the earth and what happens inside it. In my job, I take sound recordings of the earth and use these to make 3D images of what different rock layers inside it. We use lots of advanced computers, math and science to do this. After I’ve made the images, my company uses these to identify where oil and gas deposits are. These deposits are where most of the world’s petrol, plastics and many chemicals are sourced from.
