I work on many proteins, most of them are parts of the machines that make new copies of new virus genomes, or help to pump these new genomes into protein shells to make new viruses. Proteins like: helicases that separate the individual strands from double stranded DNA or RNA molecules; polymerases that make new copies of the DNA or RNA; packaging motors that pump DNA into the virus shell; and the portal protein that forms the entry port in the virus shell that guides the virus genome as it is pumped into the shell.
