it’s a reflex caused by the brain, to give more oxygen to the body.

One theory is that yawning is a way of increasing the oxygen supply to the brain with a deep breath to counter-act the sleepy feeling. But another question is, why does watching someone else yawn make you feel like yawning too? I have no idea.

Humans also yawn sympathetically, meaning it’s a sign of friendship.

If you are in a room with someone you like and they yawn, chances are so will you. Its a form of body language to tell people that you are friends with them 🙂
